Aurora International School is a co-educational international school in Gulshan, Dhaka. It offers half-day and full-day programmes for toddlers and preschool students aged 2–3, and academic programmes from Pre-K to Class VII for children aged 4–12. The school is registered with Bangladesh’s Ministry of Education and is an IB World School authorised to teach the IB Primary Years Program. Its Early Years and Elementary curriculum is built around the IB Program of Inquiry, with student-centred and inquiry-based learning. Campus facilities include Early Years learning spaces, classroom libraries, air-conditioned classrooms, indoor and outdoor play areas, a multipurpose room, smartboards from age 4 onwards, a school library, and access to an external swimming pool for the swimming programme. Aurora also offers after-school clubs for Elementary and Middle School students, with each student required to join at least one club each term.
Aga Khan Academy Dhaka is an IB World School offering the full IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) for students aged 6 to 18. On a 17‑acre campus near Bashundhara, it serves 750 students (K–12) with capacity to grow to 1,200; a residential programme from Grade 6 is planned. The campus provides subject- and age-appropriate classrooms, science and computer laboratories, a library and resource centres, and spaces for fine arts, music and dance with practice booths. The Commons hosts dining and music and drama performances. The Aga Khan Curricular Strands—Ethics, Pluralism, Cultures (Muslim civilisations emphasis), Governance and Civil Society, Economics for Development—are woven through the curriculum to foster inquiry, collaboration and responsible leadership. English is the common medium, with dual-language instruction that includes a national language and intercultural immersion. The programme prepares students for university admissions in Bangladesh and abroad and connects them with the AK Academy network through exchanges.
American International School Dhaka (AISD) provides a truly international education for ages 3–18, with IB Primary Years Programme, IB Diploma Programme, and an American Diploma pathway. Instruction is in English, with English as an Additional Language support as needed. Students progress through three high school pathways: High School Diploma, HSD with IBDP courses, or full IBDP; the IB Diploma requires six subjects, ToK, and the Extended Essay, with a minimum of 24 points. All graduating students complete Service Learning, and those not taking the EE complete a Senior Project. The 4.5-acre Baridhara campus houses 60 modern classrooms, two libraries, a state-of-the-art performing arts center, art and music facilities, and a range of science labs. Facilities include a 25-meter heated pool, two gymnasiums, two tennis courts, an outdoor field, and a fitness center. Signature programs include Discovery Week and InResidence@AISD residencies, which connect classroom learning with real-world experiences and intercultural engagement globally.
Singapore International School Dhaka (SISD), established in 2001, offers an English-medium education from early years through A Levels. The school combines the Singapore curriculum in the early and primary years with the Cambridge pathway in later stages, allowing students to progress to IGCSE and A Level qualifications. Students study core subjects including mathematics and science using the Singapore approach, alongside English and Mandarin language learning. The school provides facilities to support academic learning and co-curricular activities, including spaces for science, arts, and physical education. A distinctive feature of SISD is its integration of the Singapore curriculum with international examinations, particularly its emphasis on mathematics and Mandarin. Students transition from foundational learning to internationally recognised qualifications within the same school. Instruction is delivered in English, with Mandarin offered as a key additional language subject. Transport services are available for students.
Academia School's Lalmatia Campus is the main campus of Academia, an English-medium school established in 2002 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Located in Lalmatia, the campus offers education from Playgroup through A Levels and follows both the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel pathways. Students can progress from the early years to IGCSE and A Level qualifications within the same school system. The school provides specialist learning facilities including computer, physics, biology and chemistry laboratories, libraries, and ICT programmes. Beyond the classroom, students can participate in activities such as debate, mathematics Olympiads, science fairs, theatre, music, art, sports, spelling bees and community service programmes. One of Academia's distinctive programmes is its debate programme. The Academia Debate Club regularly organises competitions and has represented Bangladesh in international debating events. The school also hosts the English Medium Math Olympiad, providing additional opportunities for students interested in academic competitions.
