The International School Yangon (ISY) offers an educational program from early years through Grade 12. Founded in 1952, the school’s 4-acre campus in the Golden Valley neighborhood features five main buildings, a makerspace, an indoor climbing wall, and a covered swimming pool with timing touch pads. Younger students begin in the Reggio-inspired Chinthe Cubs program. The curriculum then transitions into a U.S.-based framework for elementary and middle school, culminating in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. A distinct feature of ISY is its deep integration of service learning, which is a required thread across all grade levels. Students actively participate in over 17 student-led service groups that partner directly with the local community, such as the initiative where students raised funds to build and support a primary school in a rural village. Additional language offerings include Mandarin, French, Spanish, and Burmese.
