Early Years (from 24 months to 4 years; includes Pre-K, Kindergarten and Transition). Elementary School (ages 5 to 11; Grade 1 to Grade 6) based on the International Baccalaureate PYP Curriculum. Middle School (begins at age 11 with Grade 7; IB MYP). High School (begins at age 14 with Grade 10; four-year curriculum aiming toward the Diploma Programme).

Italy

IS Bergamo follows the International Baccalaureate continuum. The Elementary School teaches the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is followed from Grade 7. The High School offers a four‑year MYP‑based curriculum with progression toward the Diploma Programme (DP). Instruction is in English, with EAL support available and Italian language study integrated (mother‑tongue Italian for Italian students; Italian language lessons and language acquisition options for others). The Digital Programme supports learning with a 1:1 iPad programme from Grade 1, and the MYP comprises eight subject groups: Language & Literature (English and Italian); Individuals and Societies; Mathematics; Arts; Design; Language Acquisition; Science; Physical and Health Education.

2025 IB Exam Results: Average Point Score 35.5 and Highest Diploma Score 43.

One in three Inspired students continues their education at Russell Group and Ivy League universities. In-house University and Careers Counsellors provide guidance, and Inspired partners with Arete Educational Consulting and The Classroom Door for enhanced university admissions support.

The school uses English as the main language of learning and follows the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP). The IB learner profile centers on developing students as inquirers, knowledgeable and caring, with explicit attention to their social, emotional and physical well-being. The Approaches to Learning framework develops thinking, research, communication, social and self‑management skills to enable self‑regulated learners and personal growth. The IB programmes encourage students to be active in their communities and to extend their learning beyond the classroom.

The school includes and supports students with a variety of needs and abilities. An Inclusion Manager leads Learning Support with a team of external consultants to implement the Learning Support Policy across the school. The school acknowledges that it may not meet the needs of students with severe difficulties.

The school offers education in English as the main language of learning. EAL provision is available. For Grade 3 and above, students are expected to have a satisfactory level of English or families may fund appropriate additional English support. English language ability is assessed during admissions for older students.

The IB continuum emphasises social, emotional and physical well‑being as part of students' holistic development. The IB learner profile focuses on developing well‑being alongside knowledge and skills and encourages learning that supports personal growth and community engagement.

The privacy information notes safeguarding, pastoral, and health and safety policies as part of the school's framework. The privacy notice also confirms access to external health professionals such as educational psychologists and speech therapists when needed.

Admissions Procedure
1. If places are available, students who fulfill admissions criteria may be admitted at any time during the academic year at the discretion of the SMT.

2. Current ISB families are given priority in re-registering their children for the new school year.

3. Families of students seeking admission to ISB should contact the school to arrange an appointment with the Head of Admissions. The purpose of this meeting is for parents to become informed about the school (its core values and its educational programme).

4. In some cases, and necessarily for all students applying after Grade 7, the school may carry out a formal assessment of the student in order to determine grade placement or to decide on appropriate learning or behavioural support.

5. Once an offer of a place is made, it is confirmed at the moment the student's family signs the official registration form and the school accepts payment for the admission fee. At this moment parents should be particularly aware of the commitments they are making.
