International School of Bucharest is a non-profit day school delivering a British-style education from early years through IB Diploma Programme. Founded in 1996, the school moved to a purpose-built campus in Bucharest's eastern district in 2008, providing facilities and a community geared to international families. The curriculum blends Cambridge IGCSE for Years 10–11 with Cambridge Secondary and the Cambridge Lower Curriculum for Key Stages 3, alongside International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 12–13. English is the language of instruction. The Primary School follows the English National Curriculum for ages 2–11, while KS3 uses the National Curriculum framework for many subjects. ISB is IB World School and is accredited by the Council of International Schools since 2012. Facilities include dedicated ICT, Music, Drama and Art rooms, a Theatre and science laboratories, plus an indoor sports hall and outdoor facilities. Enrichment activities, House competitions, and World Scholar's Cup rounds enrich life together.

The Primary School follows the English National Curriculum for children aged 2–11, delivered in a child‑centred, challenging and well‑balanced programme. In Key Stage 3, English, Mathematics and Science follow the Cambridge Secondary Lower Curriculum, with the National Curriculum for England used as the framework for History, Geography, ICT, Music, Art, Drama, PSHE and Physical Education. Modern Foreign Languages include Spanish and French, with Romanian studied as a First or Foreign Language and Turkish taught as a First Language. In Key Stage 4, most courses lead to Cambridge IGCSE qualifications. In Key Stage 5, all students follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. ISB is an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme. The language of instruction is English.

Cambridge IGCSE examinations are offered to students in Years 10–11, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is offered in Years 12–13. In 2025, ISB reported Romania's strongest IB results.
ISB's Career Counseling Service guides students toward universities worldwide. In Year 9, students receive career guidance through MyFirstChoices; in Year 11, through MyCareerChoices to plan IB options; in Year 12, through MyUniChoices to create a university shortlist. ISB also runs on‑campus and online university fairs and offers internship opportunities to support progression to higher education.
Gifted and talented students have access to visual arts courses as well as music and a variety of instrumentals.
The school has Wellbeing activities integrated into the curriculum; reflection sessions and classroom discussions encourage students to share and listen, helping them develop emotional awareness and care for others.
The school has a Counselling and Learning Support Department that offers academic support and counselling; ESL and SEN policies exist; a Counselling and Learning Support Policy guides practice.
The school provides ESL support for learners; many students speak English as a second or third language; there is an ESL policy; an ESL/SEN fee applies for Year 3 and above.
