Academics

Curriculum

The Perse School (Singapore) offers a continuous Cambridge International curriculum from early years to IGCSE. In the early years (Nursery to Year 2), learning is structured into a play-based and inquiry-led approach, and delivered within a bilingual English–Mandarin environment. This foundation continues in the Junior School (ages 7 – 10), where the curriculum deepens to build confidence, independence, and strong literacy and numeracy skills, while maintaining bilingual immersion.

In the Senior School (ages 11–16), academic rigour is further strengthened, culminating in the Cambridge IGCSE, with options for individual sciences including Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. Facilities Overview

The Perse School (Singapore) is located at 58 Chestnut Drive in Upper Bukit Timah. The school's purpose-built campus supports Early Years to Senior School. It is surrounded by nature reserves and provides modern facilities and ample outdoor spaces to support The Perse Way of education, which focuses on holistic development. Advanced facilities include modern classrooms, science labs, a culinary lab, an expansive astroturf field, cricket lanes, and dedicated creative studios. The campus is sustainably designed in line with one of the school's values — care for one another and the environment.

Sports Facilities

The campus supports a wide range of sports, including football gymnastics, and cricket. The Perse School (Singapore) partners with Barça Academy, The Yard, and CricKingdom to give students access to expert coaching and professional training programmes that develop their skills and passion in their chosen sport.

Languages

Language Provision

All lessons are taught in English. Mandarin is a compulsory subject in Nursery and Reception, with options to learn Mandarin, Japanese, or French in Junior and Senior Schools. Mandarin and French are offered in IGCSE (Years 10 and 11).

From August 2026, the school also offers Spanish, German, Hindi, and Korean (subject to demand).


Mandarin, French and Japanese are taught. Mandarin has Language Acquisition and Second/Native Language pathways, and is taught from Nursery; Nursery/Reception have five Mandarin lessons weekly, while Year 1–2 have three weekly lessons with an option to choose Mandarin or Japanese. French is offered from Year 3 onwards, and Japanese is taught from Year 1. A mother tongue programme for Japanese is free in Nursery/Reception and optional in later years at a fee; English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is available in intensive and basic forms.

Immersion Programs

An Immersive English-Mandarin bilingual programme is offered in Nursery to Year 2, with an opportunity to continue in higher year levels. The school's Two-Way Immersion approach ensures lessons are taught equally in English and Mandarin to develop high-level academic proficiency in both languages.
