John F. Kennedy International School is a small English-language day and boarding school in Saanen/Gstaad, Switzerland. Founded in 1971, it educates around 100 students aged 2.5 to 14 from more than 23 nations. The school offers Early Years, Primary and Middle School, using the International Early Years Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum and International Middle Years Curriculum. Primary classes are limited to 16 children, while Middle School students work with more specialist subject teachers. Boarding is available from age 6. The campus is made up of traditional Swiss buildings, with teaching and boarding facilities, a science laboratory, library and multipurpose hall. A distinctive feature is the school’s alpine setting: students take part in skiing, hiking, outdoor learning, culture trips and seasonal after-school activities. French continues in Middle School, and EAL support is available for students developing English language skills.
